Route

Our travel route

This was our travel plan for the 6,5 months from December 2016 to July 2017. We were backpacking and exploring the local life and happiness as well as fascinating destinations around the world. When we left, we had only a one-way ticket to India in our pockets, so our plan was not at all fixed.

Our journey began on 30th of December 2016 and we took an easy start by celebrating the new year’s eve in Goa, India. In India we explored Ashrams, meditationyoga and natural health. We also had an interesting train experience, tried surfing the Indian waves and found a secret beach in Kerala. In Nepal we did a spectacular hike in Annapurna and got to know local Himalayan life. Finally we were volunteering in an Indian school. We spent six weeks all together in India and Nepal and flied to Bangkok, Thailand on 16th of February.

We did a spectacular hike in Annapurna and finally we were  volunteering in an Indian school.

We explored Angkor Wat temples by mountain bikes in Cambodia and had a quick stop in Kuala Lumpur to meet local friends and explore world known Malaysian cuisine. Through Singapore we flew to Indonesia, where we spent a month snorkelingsurfing, diving and falling in love with  Nusa Tenggara islands. We also took a horrifying 4 day boat trip from Lombok to Flores, where we got hit by a storm.

In the beginning of April, we flew to Cairns in Australia for one short week, where we were diving in Great Barrier ReefFrom Australia we traveled to New Zealand for three weeks to explore the wonders of the nature both in South Island and North island by campervan.

At the end of April, we flied directly to Argentina from New Zealand. South America was where we spent most of our time at. From Buenos Aires we traveled to beautiful Iguazu falls and then took a long bus journey to Bolivia. In Bolivia we explored Andes and Salar de Uyuni – worlds largest salt flats, practiced Spanish in Sucre and downhill biked the world’s most dangerous road near La Paz. After relaxing couple of days in Isla del Sol in Lake Titicaca, we headed towards Peru and the Sacred Valley around Cusco. We followed ancient Inca’s foot steps to Machu Picchu and sandborded in a desert of Huacachina. We had an amazing experience in Amazonas jungle by studying natural medicines and survival skills in the jungle.

In late June we headed to Colombia’s coffee region and finally to the Caribbean coast through Medellin. Last weeks we will spend relaxing at the beaches before heading home trough Miami in late July.

But don’t worry, stories of happiness don’t end here. A lot of our stories are still unpublished and also after this trip we will be posting stories of our travels and happiness regularly.
